Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Samman

JSP Foundation, instituted the 'Swayamsiddh Samman' in 2015 to identify, reward and nurture the network of social innovators and change makers at the grass-root level in India. The award was instituted to honour the unsung heroes who overcame adversities in their lives to create their own unique identity, displaying exemplary courage, commitment and dedication towards their cause. The 'Swayamsiddh Samman' has so far been conferred upon more than 160 grass root action leaders, both at State and National level.

In its Inaugural Edition, the National level Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Samman was held in New Delhi and 25 individuals and organisations across the country from different walks of life were felicitated with the Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Samman. The awards were conferred in 10 categories viz. Women Empowerment, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, Education, Agriculture & Rural Development, Public Service, Sports, Health, Innovation & Technology and Environment.

In the second edition of the Awards, JSP Foundation introduced the Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Jeevan Samman for life long inspira¬tional and selfless service. The Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Samman was awarded to 21 Individuals & Organizations and 27 Individuals & Organisations in the 2nd and the 3rd editions of the award ceremony respectively, from across India for their societal contribution in the categories: Indomitable Courage, Agriculture & Rural Development, Women Empowerment, Innovation / Technology, Public Service/ Social service, Health, Education, Sports, Art & Culture, Environment, and Entrepreneurship & Livelihood. The winners are conferred with the title of 'Swayamsiddh Shri' and were given a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh*, along with a certificate of appreciation to acknowledge and support their ongoing work.

Today, these awardees have become 'Ambassadors of Change' and are guiding others to achieve their dreams, thus forming a human chain.

Rath Yatra – Food Service at Puri:

JSP Foundation has been serving the devotees during the grand Rath Yatra Festival at Puri since 2015. Devotees are served fresh cooked food rice, dalma (medley of lentil and vegetables) and khatta (chutney made from raw mangoes/ fresh tomatoes). People from various walks of life across India enjoy the fresh cooked food and appreciated the efforts of JSP Foundation. The Foundation has so far served more than 3 lakh plus meals, freshly cooked amongst devotees during the festival over a period of 10 days. In addition to these, devotees are also served with chilled drinking water from a refrigerated mobile drinking water tanker of 1000 litre capacity engaged by the JSP Foundation.

In coordination with the District Administration, the Foundation has also been distributing packets of Glucose among the devotees during Rath Yatra. Over the years more than 50000 glucose and energy (ORS) drink packets are thus distributed among the servitors during the 10 days grand occasion of the Rath Yatra in Puri.
