Livelihood Generating Centres- Jan Jeevika Kendra and Aakriti Centres
At Angul and Barbil in Odisha the Jan Jeevika Kendra (JJK) promotes and encourages women to run micro enterprises and has accomplished to sustain engagement of SHGs in income generating activities like organic herbal body care products manufacturing, jute products making, vegetable cultivation, food processing, tailoring & stitching, mushroom cultivation and dairy management. More than 300 SHG members are involved in the JJK units (Chaiti – papad, pickle making, Odifab – jute bags & Phenyl, Ecospa – herbal beauty products, Srujan - tailoring, Sugandhi – incense stick, and Shubhangi– Sanitary Napkin)
To promote vocational skills among women, Aakriti Production Centre was established at Tamnar. At present manufacturing of apron, cushions cover, bags, wall hangings, garments, zardosi crafts, embroidered fabrics and so on are largely stitched at the centres. The women are also imparted with training. The women entrepreneurs so created here have managed to earn a decent income from these activities. 74 women in Aakriti, 27 women are engaged as entrepreneur in Tamnar. More than 50 women in Patratu and Barbil are engaged at the tailoring and stitching centres.
- Jan Jeevika Express – Bazaar on wheel: 330 SHG Members involved in the Marketing of Products Manufactured by Self Help Groups. The SHG products are now sold in collaboration with ORMAS (Govt. of Odisha) through Jan Jeevika Express – Bazaar on wheel.
- Terracotta: artisans are provided with training, id- card, and market linkages.
- Lac Bangle: women are trained and are making lac bangles at Barbil.
- Artificial Jewellery: women are trained and are into production of artificial jewellery at Patratu.
- Tent House: women SHG are involved in the business of tent house and utensils. They provide utensils, chairs and other tent materials during different function in the village.
- Revival & Capacity building of SHG: 5270 SHG members were provided training and a workshop was organized for them to promote SHGs to take up microenterprises for their livelihood.
- Rope Making -Livelihood Support to Birhor Community: Birhor tribes are among 8 primitive tribes of Jharkhand who are considered vulnerable and are on the verge of extinction. They live in group and migrate seasonally in search of work and food. Rope making is one of the major projects undertaken at Birhor Colony, Daridih to enhance their earning capacity and profitability by utilizing their skill of weaving rope by hand. Under this intervention JSPL Foundation provides waste empty cement sacks as raw material for rope making on free basis. We have also facilitated towards opening bank account of 10 Birhor families to inculcate the habit of savings. The families are able to get a livelihood from rope making in order to meet their petty expenses.

- Created 1170 micro enterprises across 158 villages
- Enhancing the income of 12000 women and 9000 farmers on sustainable basis.
- SHEs & micro enterprise development projects -Women are under Producer Federation and linked with financial organizations for fund mobilisation.
- Zero Cost Revolving fund in place as Working capital support.
- JSPL Foundation supporting in capacity building of women and farmers, product diversification, Product certification, packaging/ up gradation / forward and backward linkages.
- Linked under Govt. Schemes of National Livelihood Mission, State Livelihood Missions , State level Apex body of Rural Marketing for capacity building and market linkages.
