Shalini Bharat is Deputy Director (Academic) and Professor in the School of Health Systems Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She also heads the 'Saksham' TB Counseling program, a sub-recipient of the Global Fund supported TB control program awarded to the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health, Government of India. Her research interests include structural determinants of health with special reference to reproductive and sexual health, women's health, HIV and TB, family studies, and demographic transition of minority communities. She teaches Qualitative Research Methodology, Public Health Ethics and Health Research Ethics to postgraduate and doctoral students. Prof. Bharat serves on the scientific advisory committees and technical review groups of many organizations and research programs.
